Hunting Island Beach ranked #7 in U.S.

Hunting Island Beach has made the top-10 list of beaches in the United States in the TripAdvisor travel website’s Travelers Choice Beaches awards, coming in at a lofty #7.

Travelers Choice Beaches Awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings on the website that are collected over a 12-month period, according to a TripAdvisor news release.

Our wonderful 3 mile-long slice of natural paradise was ranked ahead of beaches located in California, Florida and Hawaii.

Of course it did. Hunting Island is not your typical beach.

Hunting Island is South Carolina’s single most popular state park attracting more than a million visitors a year, as well as a vast array of land and marine wildlife. A visit to Hunting Island Beach  will show you palm trees, thousands of acres of marsh and maritime forest, a saltwater lagoon and an ocean inlet… all part of the park’s natural allure.

You can even climb the stairs to the top of the historic Hunting Island Lighthouse and take in a breathtaking view of the Atlanic Ocean. In a typical day you’ll see dolphins frolicking right off shore and pelicans dive bombing for their next meal.

It has all the key ingredients that keep locals and visitors alike coming back all throughout the year.
